Thanks to the leadership of State Representative Karl Oliver (R-Winona), the Winona-Montgomery School District was awarded $7 million in legislative appropriations to renovate Winona Secondary School. These funds are being used to:
Reroof the gymnasium, north and south wings of WSS, the Winona Career and Technical Center (including repair and paint of plywood mansard), the lower band hall, and the Wolfe Lab building.
Renovate all restrooms with new floor and wall tiles, plumbing fixtures, ceilings, and lights.
Renovate dressing rooms in gymnasium, replace plumbing fixtures, and paint.
Replace flooring in corridors and classrooms.
Install new wood flooring in the gymnasium with basketball and volleyball court lines and volleyball floor sockets.
Install new HVAC to heat and cool corridors, install new HVAC in gymnasium and Winona Career and Technical Center shop.
Replace HVAC in band hall, auditorium, and small Winona Career and Technical Center shops.
Replace the two-story lift, and add lift in the gymnasium for handicap accessibility.
Repair plaster walls as needed.
Install new drop ceiling and lighting in corridors and paint.
Replace exterior doors at Winona Secondary School.
Refresh historic corridor doors with wood finish and new hardware.
Renovate gymnasium interior east rooms and entryway.
Make minor repairs at Wolfe Lab building.
Make major electrical service upgrades at Winona Secondary School.
Install new fire alarm system.
Construction is currently underway.
Installation of new turf football field
Construction of a new Athletic Facility adjacent to Tiger Stadium
The athletic facility will include an indoor practice facility, coaching offices, locker rooms, a weight room, and storage.
Installation of new flooring at J.J. Knox Gymnasium
New roof at Winona Elementary School
New awning at Winona Elementary School
Interior construction at Winona Elementary School
Beautification projects campus-wide
