Winona Elementary students who are participating in at-home learning are required to attend training Friday, August 21st from 9:00-10:30am.
This is NOT for students who are attending school on the Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday hybrid schedule.
SICK Tigers STAY Home
It is critical that students stay home when they are not feeling well or when they or anyone in the home has symptoms of COVID-19, is awaiting test results, or has tested positive. Parents should inform the child's school immediately when a child is tested and should keep the child home while waiting on test results. The district will communicate with parents when there is a group contact or close contact.
Thank you for helping us keep our students and employees safe. #ItsaGreatDaytobeaTIGER #LEADER

WMCSD COVID-19 Update from Dr. Jackson 04.08.2020
Hello, WMCSD Students, Families, and Employees. I hope you are healthy and adjusting to the stay-at-home order. Your main goal right now should be to take care of yourself and your family. You can find guidelines for protecting your family at the Mississippi Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control.
THANK YOU to every TIGER big and small! It takes all of us to be successful in times such as these. We are up for the challenge! We are TIGERStrong!
Students, we can see that you are logging in to your accounts and working on activities assigned by your teachers. You can work in the online programs or complete the packets created by your teachers on the WMCSD website. You can print the packets or view them online and write your answers on a sheet of paper. We encourage you to read and write everyday, learn more about something you are interested in, and help your parents out around the house. Even though the work is not graded, you know how important it is for you to learn something everyday! Keep up the good work!
Parents, we appreciate you encouraging and helping your children to keep learning while at home. Thank you for responding to teachers’ texts and phone calls. We need to hear from you and your children. Don’t forget about our email hotline at tigertalk@winonaschools.net and your teachers’ office hours. If we can assist you, please let us know. All of our email addresses can be found on the website.

COVID-19 Update 03.19.2020 8:20pm
WMCSD leaders are working day and night to decide how school looks for the next 4 weeks. We will be announcing our plans for meals and at-home learning soon.
We hope all our students, families, and employees are doing well. This is only our 4th day out, but we miss our students. Educating kids is our life’s work.
We encourage students and even adults to make a list of things they would like to learn more about and take advantage of the free resources that are available to you. You should not be working on school work all day everyday, but you should spend some time each day reading, writing, and learning something new.

Good Afternoon, WMCSD Employees, Students, and Families.
I know you have lots of questions that we don’t have answers to at the moment. Although Spring Break has been extended another week, WMCSD teachers and administrators continue to work from home on making decisions in the best interest of all of our students. We are communicating constantly via email and text messages. We are brainstorming ideas for how to serve our students and families. We have as many questions as you do, but we are learning just how creative we can be in a difficult situation. WMCSD is a small district, but we are mighty Tigers!
We will continue to monitor and learn more about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and how to limit its spread by staying in contact with the Mississippi State Department of Health and state offices. We will share information as it becomes available. Please bear with us as this is a constantly changing situation.
Thank you for your patience and support!
Teresa Jackson, Superintendent
