WMCSD Tiger Parents are the best!  Thank you for sending your questions to tigertalk@winonaschools.net. We will work hard to get answers to you as quickly as possible.

What day will students start school?

Students will start school on Friday, August 7th. The 2020-2021 calendar (updated 06.30.2020) will be posted Monday, July 6th.

Will parents be able to come meet our child’s teacher and walk through the school?

Yes, the WES Parent Days are listed below.  We will release more information prior to these dates. On your assigned Parent Day, we encourage you to bring your student to WES to meet his/her teachers and drop off school supplies. Both you and your child will need to wear a mask or face shield. Your temperature will be taken prior to entering the building.

Parents will not be able to walk their children into the building on the first day of school. Teachers will meet the children in the car rider and bus lines and walk them inside of the building. We encourage you to use Parent Day to spend time in the classroom with your child, so both you and your child will feel comfortable and prepared for the first day of school.

Will students be able to bring lunch from home?

Students may bring lunch from home.  We will release safety guidelines which will likely include bringing food in all disposable containers and throwing away any uneaten food to lessen the possibility of carrying germs from school to the home.

If a child is already in band and their parent chooses to do at home learning for them, will they still be able to participate next year?

As long as a child is enrolled and attending school face-to-face, he/she can participate in extracurricular activities.
