Safety for students and staff is a top priority for WMCSD. This week is National School Bus Safety Week. This year’s theme is “1 Bus + 1 Driver = A Big Impact on Education.” We know that is certainly true for our schools. Thank you to our bus drivers and monitors who safely transport our Tigers to and from school each day. You can help us keep students safe by watching out for buses, observing all traffic laws, and making sure you are not distracted by things such as your cell phone while driving.
On October 20th, WMCSD will participate in the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill at 10:20am. For more information, you can visit shakeout.org.
The Winona Elementary PTO met Tuesday night to discuss upcoming events. On October 20th, they will host a fundraising event where students can take a picture with Homer the Tiger for $1.00. If you are a runner or even a walker, you should sign up for the Halloween Fun Run on October 29th. PTO is also hosting a Fall Festival on November 12th. For more information, check out the WES PTO Facebook page or contact the school office.
WES will be celebrating all things fall during their Octoberfest event on October 31st. This will be during the school day and students are looking forward to it. WES teachers are working hard to make this a fun day for students!
The next regular meeting of the WMCSD Board is November 8th at 6:00pm at the Superintendent’s Office.
The Power of Positivity is evident in WMCSD!
