Tiger with mouth open

It’s a Great Day to be a TIGER!

Academic Programming Students and employees will be out of school November 23-27 for Thanksgiving Holidays.  Students will then have three weeks of classes before Christmas Holidays December 21- January 1st.  Please encourage students to stay focused and give their best efforts so they will finish the first semester strong.

Operations We hope you can join us on Friday, November 20th at Tiger Stadium where we will take on Amory in the third round playoff game. Tickets are on sale in the high school office and are $8.00 each. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate on the night of the game.

Masks must be worn covering the mouth and nose when walking to and from the concession stand, restroom, or other areas. Families should sit together and physically distance themselves from others.

Family and Community Support Thank you for your support throughout this very challenging year.  We know that there are decisions that we make that are difficult to understand.  Your leadership teams are working together to learn as much as we can about preventing the spread of COVID-19 and to provide the best educational experience possible for our students during a global pandemic.  The school setting is very structured with strict protocols and constant monitoring.  We wear masks, physically distance as much as possible, wash/sanitize our hands, and sanitize/disinfect surfaces throughout the day and anytime there is a student or employee sent home with any illness.  We also report accurate numbers of students and employees who have been quarantined and tested positive each Monday for the prior week.

Outdoor events are safer than indoor events, and this is why we can have recess at the elementary school and play football, soccer, and baseball with spectators. We encourage families to be extra careful during the holiday season where you may be indoors without masks on and may engage in activities like eating and talking for long periods of time with people who may have been exposed or are contagious and not showing symptoms.

Health and Safety WMCSD wishes all our students, employees, and families a Happy Thanksgiving and hopes everyone will do what it takes to stay healthy.  Experts are urging everyone to keep holiday dinners small and local.  Please visit the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Facebook page for more information on staying safe at family gatherings.

Communications The WMCSD website is www.winonamontgomerycsd.com.  Our Facebook page is Winona-Montgomery Consolidated School District, and the email hotline is tigertalk@winonaschools.net.  We are here to answer your questions.

Technology/Learning Management Systems Most students at Winona Secondary School have picked up their devices.  If you haven’t picked up your 7th - 12th grade child’s Chromebook, please call the school office to make an appointment to do so.

Stay healthy and choose joy!
