WINONA ELEMENTARY "SOFT START" Winona Elementary School (WES) serves students in PreK through sixth grade.  Due to the situation our nation has experienced since March 2020 with COVID-19, we feel we need to have a “soft start” at WES.  This means that for students who have chosen the traditional schedule, we will alternate days that students will be on campus from August 7th through 14th. The first day for all WES students to attend together will be August 17, 2020.

Our goal is to make our students feel safe, comfortable, and loved by the faculty and staff of WES. Alternating days will provide a smaller setting to give our students time to learn our new procedures and become comfortable with the routines of the school day. It will give our teachers more time to focus on individual student’s needs as they establish relationships with their students.

Students will attend as follows:

  • August 7th, 11th, and 13th Student’s LAST NAME begins with letters A through K
  • August 10th, 12th, and 14th Student’s LAST NAME begins with letters L through Z
  • Beginning August 17 All students will attend.

Families with students in the same household with different last names will need to follow the schedule even if the students attend on different days.

Examples:

A student in any grade PreK through 6th with the last name FRANKLIN will attend school on August 7, 11, and 13.

A student in any grade PreK through 6th with the last name MOORE will attend school on August 10, 12, and 14.

All PreK through 6th grade students will attend daily beginning August 17, 2020.

If you have questions about the WES Soft Start, please email WES Principal Mrs. Tabitha McCrory at tabithamccrory@winonaschools.net.Click HERE for the full WMCSD Dress Code for 2020-2021
